Discover a beer spa located in one of Budapest's most legendary baths. The Lukács Baths have been welcoming visitors since the 12th century and were once a favorite vacation spot of the writers Gyula Krúdy and Frigyes Karinthy. Locals still value them for their authentic, calmer atmosphere away from the busier tourist baths.
Your visit will begin with a brief welcome and an introduction to the brewing traditions behind your bath. You will then enjoy a 45-minute private immersion in a handcrafted wooden bath filled with natural thermal water from the Lukács springs, rich in minerals and enhanced with hops, malt and specially prepared brewing salt. Hops release essential oils that are traditionally valued for their soothing effects on the skin and
the ability to relieve tension, and thermal minerals act on tired muscles. During the entire session, you can pour yourself unlimited fresh Hungarian beer from your personal copper tap.
To complete the ritual as our brewmaster recommends, you will be served a cup of freshly brewed herbal hop tea (infusion of Humulus lupulus), a traditional Central European soothing drink that complements the relaxing effects of the sauna and ends the experience in a natural way. This finishing tea is a unique feature of our Lukács center and is included with every booking.
