Full description
Most evenings in Prague end in a restaurant. This evening begins in a more interesting place.
Celebrity chef Mariko—a Los Angeles culinary celebrity who spent years preparing private dinners for Hollywood stars before bringing her techniques to Prague—hosts a five-course dinner in the intimate setting of her light-filled 19th-century studio at the foot of the Visegrad Fortress. The view of the Vltava and Prague Castle creates a special atmosphere.
The evening is determined by what happens at the table.
Mariko's cooking reflects her experiences living across continents: the precision of private Hollywood kitchens, spice markets in India, the pure flavors of Southeast Asia and the exceptional seasonal produce she sources here in the Czech Republic. The result is dishes that feel both sophisticated and absolutely alive.
A welcome drink awaits you upon arrival (choose from Czech wines, prosecco or craft non-alcoholic spritzers) and a generous selection of cold cuts and processed cheeses from the best Czech producers. This reception immediately makes it clear that this evening will be special.
You will then be offered a five-course menu. Grilled romaine lettuce with smoked seeds and seasonal garnish. The saffron risotto, which Mariko herself brings back from her travels in India, is prepared with seasonal additions that change throughout the year: fresh peas in the spring, truffle in the fall, carrot gremolata when the mood calls for it. Main course of your choice: locally sourced Czech beef filet mignon with garlic and rosemary
balsamic vinegar dressing or baked salmon with fresh herbs from the garden. Vegetarian menu on request. And for dessert - signature flourless chocolate cake with seasonal fruits and vanilla bean gelato.
Throughout the evening, Mariko cooks in front of the guests. Guests can walk up to the open kitchen, ask questions and watch each dish being created. The conversation evolves naturally, from stories about each dish and ingredient she brings back from her travels to what it's really like to cook for people who have everything but still want something new but familiar.

In the evenings, guests are served free Czech wines and non-alcoholic craft spritzers. The Czech Republic is one of Europe's emerging wine regions, and during dinner, Mariko introduces guests to producers and grape varieties that most tourists have never heard of. This is another discovery in an evening that is already rich in impressions.
Most guests leave saying that Mariko's culinary experience was the highlight of their trip to Prague.
